I had one of the feeders come down with it yesterday, gave him 5.5ml of Draxxin and will hope for the best. Gonna give the other 5 the same treatment according to weight because I am sure its already spread. Not sure why they are coming down with it, good shelter, mostly dry, open to the south for the sun, all I can guess is weaning a few weeks ago in that colder rainy weather stressed them out too much.

Dave, some people will think I'm a fruitcake but dad used to say no good things come from a wind that blows from the south and he was a vet I'm still battling pneumonia that I've never had and I'm usually pretty healthy but the bacteria that causes pneumonia thrives on fungus which seem to have a connection with hurricane Ike and due to the fact that we've had a warmer than normal Autumn gave the bacteria a chance to incubate and grow seems to support this theory. Call me crazy IMHO

Dave, I assume you have given your feeders their shots, four way, one shot ect? Pnuemonia can happen even with proper shots but is rare nowdays with the good vaccines on the market. I keep 20 replacement heifers and 6 steers every year and I have had only one case of pnuemonia in the last 20 years.
