met an old collector at a sale the other day and got to talking about his collection. he has a jd model 18 one row picker that he picked up in indiana. i remember the #10 and the #20 two row but dont ever remember seeing a number 18. how rare were these pickers? he seemed to think they were more popular in the western states, iowa, nebraska, oklahoma ect then in the illinois, indiana, ohio areas. any thoughts? any idea what one would be worth in running condition?

Had one in KY a couple years ago, it was worn out completely, ended up in scrap:-( There is a good pic of one in the Implement Photos section.

My club in NW Indiana has one. Works ok in light corn.

I have one for sale if you are interested. i believe that they are fairly rare, because they are old, and when the farmer that needs shed space, the picker is sent out the fence line and then to the scrap yard.
