I have a fireplace in the main part of the house that is a heatalator type with regular glass doors and as you know you can't control a fire very well with those kind of doors so I thought about some air tight doors by Kozy Heat they have tempered glass in cast iron frames that actually seal like a stove door, do any of you guys have this type of door on your fireplace and if so how do you like them?
I might add that I do have outside air for the unit and that is how I would control the fire.

Hello Walter Squires.
Are you trying to make the fire last longer as well as controlling the fire?
Closing the outside air on an airtight will controll the fire. If your system is not air tight after you install the doors than what?
That would be a concern!
Guido.

Even the new heaters don't regulate the fire through the glass doors, it's done with the damper. No oxygen, no fire. try Regulating the intake of air and forget about the doors.
