I have a International 1086 than when you push the clutch in you cant put it in to gear you have to shut it off first. Then when in gear and started back up you can push on the clutch and it wont stop the tractor you have to push real hard on the shifter to get it out of gear. What should I look at first? I though about trying to adjust th clutch.

I would look at either a 4430 first then maybe a 4440. It would be a nice upgrade from a 1086 with the clutch out.

Humm..... Mabey another Deere owner wishing he had a 1086????? Read my post to your question in the IH Forum. With due repsect I must say Deere did make good running gears, graderblades and the #6 JD. corn sheller with M&M drags was the best made (upgraded with a Cook/Washington cylinder) until Mr. Cook started making his own corn sheller in Washington. Did you ever notice that John Deere dealers have a shop behind the showroom?

It is there because the JD's break down also.

The only tractors that don't breakdown are the ones that never get used.

Ia Gary is correct. Right now I have IHC, Oliver, JD, and Massey and have had Allis. Had good luck with all of them but they will all break down. Be nice if you could cross breed them to get the superior traits of each.
