Another Waste Oil Question

I see recently a question was asked about adding waste oil to diesel to burn in tractors, etc. What about adding waste oil to home heating oil? Seems like 5 gallons per 275 gallon tank wouldn"t hurt anything.Anyone done this before? Any problems?Any pointers and ideas?

Do the math. You are saving 1/50th of your fuel bill. Do you want to put your system at risk for that amount?

why not just put in a waste oil furnace?my dad has one in his garage charges ppl a disposal fee then takes it out back and dumps it in a tank and heats his garage with it in the winter highway robbery if you ask me

I've done the math.I'd be damaging a $50.00 mobile home furnace.Evidently, the guys that use waste oil in their $40,000.00 plus diesel trucks aren't very concerned for some reason.Sorry I asked.

I can assure you this, I spent 40000 bucks on a new truck,(Well not that much) the last thing Ill be doing is running WMO through it, besides to me it isnt about saving on fuel, but disposing of oil oil in a repsonsible manner, rather than someone else making money off of it twice.
