Odd tire size

I ran across somebody looking for some 12.4x44 tires. I have never heard of a 12.4x44 tire. The guy said it goes to a farmall that is 70 years old. Any idea of he misread the tire or if that was the correct size. If it is the correct size, where in the world do you find something like that? I have no idea what model it is.

Thanks.

He may have misread the size. It might be a 40 instead of a 44. I think that F-14's had 40 inch tires on the cast wheels.

(quoted from post at 11:19:33 11/18/08) My friend has a Farmall F-30 with the 44 inch tires on it. It came out of the rice fields in La.

:) What does the F-30 have for a front end? They ran "down hill" some with 36 inch wheels and tires! I can't imagine them up another 4 inches in the rear unless they did something with the front! :?

Farmall offered the F-30 in a high clearence version with those 13.6 X 44 rear tires. The front tires were 8 X 21 to match up with the 44 inch rears.
