I decided to take a break from talk radio after the elections and found some old CDs I have had for about 25 years. Some of them are "Sly and the Family Stone", "Neil Diamond", and one of my favorite "3 Dog Night". What are some of your favorites.

The Band
Steppenwolf
Arlo Guthrie
Frank Zappa
Bob Seger
Alabama
The Beatles
Lynyrd Skynyrd

Not to forget
Johnny Cash
Willy & Waylon
Charlie Daniels
Merle
and a bunch more

One of the greatest rock #s to me is Bostons "more than a feeling" still marvel at that production after a million listens. Bands would include Santana,Steve Miller, early Beatles. Dan

Def Leppard
Kiss
Journey
John Cash
Alabama
Oak ridge boys
Police
Great White

For the record... I can not stand that band Rascal Flatts or any rap.

I went to a Stones concert in the New Orleans Superdome in 1978 but I was not a big fan of theirs. Man was there a lot of weed there if you know what I mean.

I liked the old Van Halen music when I was in high school. Hank Williams, Jr. too. My 10 yr old boy likes old Johnny Cash tunes. He sang a couple at the local bar & grill about a week ago during chokiokie night (we go there for family dinners sometimes). He did a great job, too.

CD's from 25 years ago? How about 8 tracks?
When did the CD come out?

Cant beat Hank Jr.
CCR
The Eagles

I really like the new Kid Rock song, "All summer long"

Bluegrass: The Dillards

Gene

I didn't know CD's were around that far back... but my favorite was Pink Floyd. Also liked Guess Who, Grand Funk Railroad (the earlier stuff), Moody Blues, and of course Led Zeppelin.

I like any singer that puts trains, jail, momma, prison and trucks in the song.Oh yea I forgot getting drunk also.Band must have a fiddle and steel guitar to qualify as a real band.

Like country mostly now,but used to ,and still do like AC/DC, and DEF LEPPORD.Really like Toby Keith,Alabama,Shania Twain,Reba,Brooks 'N' Dunn GS and the rest of the good ones today.

I just stumbled across a youtube video of an episode of Lawrence Welk where Harold is playing the Clarinet Polka on his tuba. Enjoy!

Well, when I was younger, it was an old George Michael song called "Faith". Course, that was when I was young and innocent and didn't have a clue he was gay. Then it moved to Creedence Clearwater Revival, first "Looking Out my Back Door" and then "Traveling Band".

Favorite music now includes:
Skynyrd, CCR, Bob Seger, Allman Brothers, .38 Special, Ted Nugent, Motley Crue, Boston, Brad Paisley, Montgomery Gentry, John Michael Montgomery, Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson, Van Halen, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Tool, Disturbed, well, just about anything really. Classic and Southern Rock, Alternative Rock and Metal, Country and Outlaw Country, and whatever's on the radio.

Johnette Napolitano is the best there ever was or ever will be. Still is. Also known as the voice of Concrete Blonde but has done more outside Concrete Blonde than with Concrete Blonde. She released a sole CD last year. I saw her live in San Francisco last month and she still rocks with the best of them. Amazing.

That John Phillip Sousa would really get the blood pumpin'...just got a little tiresome cranking the old Edison Amberola, and changing those cylinder records.

Favorite song was "Musical Sam From Alabam," but I can't remember who recorded it. Also enjoyed the song about "The Preacher And The Bear."

Jimi Hendrix
The Doors
CCR
Led Zeppelin
JoJo Gunne
Bloodrock
Frijid Pink
Robin Trower
old Aerosmith

Grand Funk Railroad! As I've gotten older, I prefer Classic Country music. I think Tom Petty is the best "old" rocker out there.

Actually saw two favorites in action. Steppenwolf played homecoming at the University of Kansas in about 1970 and it was a terrific concert. Ike and Tina Turner played homecoming the next year. Man, thinking about that makes me feel old now.
