In mid-Summer, a full size automobile was worth 400 bucks around 'here'..........delivered to the scrap yard; don't know what it is now.

The last I heard it was only bringing $2.75 a hundred # for car bodies that was 2 weeks ago. Havent seen it since.. Waco,Texas

Here in central NY, it was up to $200 per ton for scrap cars and now it's $50.

Here in Manitoba scrap was 150 dollars phoned last week to take a load in and they said 10 dollars,I asked him if he was drinking or what,he said china is not buying anymore,scrap can stay where it is now till later,not worth it

Was $280 here in Southern MN earlier this summer,now $50.

Slowed down the scrapping of old machinery(thank goodness).

I think it is about time that scrap iron became basically worthless again. Now maybe the thieves will stop raiding our farms.

This is exactly on topic ! because the price of scrap is directly related to how many tractors get junked instead of saved.

Price for cars is $20 ton here in SE MN. I have a bunch of aluminum cans I didn't get hauled in last summer for 70 cents pound. Now they are 30 cents, I guess they will just continue to clutter the garage.

In north Mississippi it was $140 ton, in early summer, now $40 ton and the tractors headed in to the scrap yard have slowed down. AND you should see the scrap yard's long time employee's tractor collection.......major large.

Just got a call this afternoon, they said Monday they will pick up a load for me $30.00 a ton. It still is going as I need the room

I think it was July and I got rid of a load of tin and wire for $180 per ton. 2 weeks ago it was $20/ton.

called the scrap yard just yesteday. the nearest one ( 22 miles ) is down to $10.00 a ton, they are usually about half price compared to the yards in san antonio.
