I just returned from Illinois on a wonderful bowhunt. It was a little costly, though. The people of Illinois were some of the nicest folks I"ve ever met, (I"m from North Florida). Before this trip, I didn"t have a positive view of northerners, but I think it"s mainly some of the ones from the northeast that I"ve had bad dealings with. Anyway, here"s my proposal: Myself and three friends will come and harvest as many deer as the DNR will allow from your farm, pay you fair short term lease, respect your property and even even cook you a venison dinner if there"s a spot we can set up camp!And, if one of the guys fills his tags early, you can put him to work. Let me know, I"d love to help y"all!

I broke down in S. IL once many years ago. Either those folk wanted me gone or they were the nicest people in the world; I think the latter. I have no deer for you to harvest. Sounds like a good proposal.

Deal. Come get them all. They are all corn fed and very healthy. After 8-12 rows were trashed around a decent sized field, I've had enough. This was in a field that was making 220 also. You don't even have to cook me anything, just some jerky will be fine. NW IN. P.S.--I've seen a 12pt, and 2 8pt'ers in the last 2 weeks.

Sorry no deal, I just got off the phone with our WV DNR officer, nice guy. They can't issue a permit after oct. 15 I think there is one main reason for this.The gun season is the single biggest money maker this state has going for it alot of the it from out of state hunters. I don't see why people from out of state come here any way the license cost more and I would rather kill a soy bean fattened buck. No now that I think of it I would rather kill the one that has done me financail harm than some one else.
He was in favor of the permit because you are most likely to hit a deer with a car in West Virginia than any where else. The officer said that every night he gets called out to shoot hit deer, he sounds like he's getting tired of that to say the least.

You will need to bring your own dogs.
I live next to about 2000 acres of woods that can not be hunted. The deer only come out of this area at night and can destroy your garden by morning.
The locals set up on the fence line and let the dogs chase the deer onto land that can be hunted.

Saw a nice 6 point crossing the road on the way home tonight.
Best part is I am a lot closer to you than Ill.
