Workboots for a bad back

I have put up with back problems for years and I have noticed it gets worse every time my workboots get worn and run down. When the heels get worn on one side and the insides get cracked and rough I can always count on worse aggravation with the back. There is bound to be a lot more people with back problems out there. What is a good workboot that is real friendly to a problem back? Thanks for your thoughts on this.

I have a similar problem. I haven't found a good boot for that yet. I started going to a chiropractor and am just about to get back to normal but it seems that I have to go back about once a month

Im in the same boat as you and pair-a-dice with the back pain and wearing down the heels. Chiropractor helped my back out quite a bit but as far as boots go, I've found that a tri-comfort orthodic works pretty well to keep me walking flat on my heels. Dr. Scholls makes a slip in that goes on top of the regular insole has worked the best. Usually between $7-$10 at most stores (pharmacy, walmart and etc.) I've also found that a heavier soled boot doesnt seem to wear as fast. Had a Cabelas brand work boot that didnt wear down much but they were heavier than the Justin work boots I usually wear.

Wolverine - Durashock, Model 01519 with the solid wedge heel. These boots have served me well over the years. I prefer the lace up over the pull on. These are the most comfortable boots that I have used.
Just my humble opinion

Bad back and boots do not mix. My self I wear tennis shoes most of the time because of a bad back. Only time I do wear boots is when I hunt and then only as along as I'm in the deer stand. My bad back is why I am retired and I can only play now days because of it

I've had really good results with the Cat brand boots in the Indiana style for my back and knees.

The first thing is to get boots that actually fit. Most stores will not stock in most widths, which means that the majority of people are wearing shoes that don't fit them. Red Wings can be ordered in pretty much any width; they'll even sell different sized left and right shoes in certain styles.

I change insert in my boots about every 2 months I get the heavy heels ones , I know what you meen about backache , I can tell when my insert are worn out my will staart killing me,

No matter what model you want to get TPat has the right idea with the Wolverine Durashocks. Dad has been wearing them for about 18 years and since turning me on to them I'ver worn nothing but Wolverines for about 16 years. Dad turned me on to them after finding they were the only boot he could comfortably wear after having his big toe amputated due to an accident. He tried just about every other brand made but with the scar tissue left from the amputation the Wolverines were the only ones that had enough cushion for him to be comfortable. He soon discovered it made a world of difference in the way his back felt at the end of the day also so he turned me on to them since, at the time, I was working inside on concrete all day. I can vouch for his assessment, they made a world of difference in the way my back felt at the end of the day. I'm outside mopst of the time n ow just like he is but on rocks, sand, concrete whatever the surface, in my opinion, there is no better boot for your back.

Wolverines-04248 is what current pair is. These have made tremendous difference for me as On cement 97% of the time now. Use there inserts only also. I replace the inserts about every two months. The shoes themselve I can usually get three years out of them. I tried the rockies brand one for very short time they didn't do it for me and went back to wolverines

Both my wife and I had back problems. Always tryed to life the whole farm. The Doctor suggested Merrell (Vibram Aircushion) We keep changing them before they are wore out. Have not had to have the back ajusted for several years. The boots are lighter in weight, but strong enough for the farm work. They are more like a big hiking shoe

A little off the subject - I used to run a lot and my back hurt - one of the paramedics I worked with, that was a tri-athlete, told me to look at the sole of my running shoes - one will be worn more than the other - that leg is a little longer than the other - he said to put inserts into the shoe for the short leg - I did and it really helped my aching back.

Redwings are the best money can buy. I am a dairy farmer and pull my boots on at 4:30 am and they dont come off untill 9:30 pm 7 days a week. I get a little over a year out of them but they remain comfortable the whole time. give them a try and see how they work.

I've been wearing Redback for the last 9 years.Made in Australia. No more knee and back pains.Buy 'em from my Matco tool dealer.I think everyone wears a pair at the shops that truck stops.Eveyone I've talked to will not ever buy another brand.

Redwings are over-rated in my opinion. My body hurt like heck from wearing those dang things.

I have had back problems and now hip problems. Found that if I throw out my boots as soon as I see them wearing over it helps a BUNCH. I have also gone to wearing the same boots as the police use. The ones I get are made by RG and are called a 6"delivery boot. They have them in many styles and heights. The ones I get I buy from a store called Big 5. They have them on sale regularly for about $25 a pair. I used to wear Red Wings and the worked good but were darn hard to throw out when the wore out due to the price. I had a pair of Mason Farm boots that I had repaired a couple times Heels and Soles but the leather stretched out finally. They were great boots. Just found that the RG boots were an easier way to go. Hate to throw out what look like pretty good shoes but they hurt! And what it good about that?

My knees and hip would start hurting when my boots got wore down on the soles. Replacing them helped but now I am working on a job where I am on concrete all day and my heels hurt like they are bruised, just kills me by the end of the day. Maybe better arch support? I don't know maybe one of you guys can help
