Best Older Burb?

Looking to buy 4 to 8 year old Chev Suburban. Any advice on which year/engine to look for or avoid?

In that era, the engine choices would be the 5.3 V-8 or the 6.0 V-8, both good engines, and of the same (LS-1) engine family.

I have a slightly older ('02) with a 5.3 and highway gears, and it's been great. Will you potentially be cruising or towing with your's?
