A week ago I posted about the auger I had laying on it's side after the wind came through. Well, today I put it back on wheels and it didn't take as much word as I thought it would. Thanks, Janicholson, for the suggestion to take the carriage off and put it back on after the auger is raised a bit.

The auger doesn't look like it's hurt at all now that it's on wheels but I finished the job in the dark. Maybe in the morn it'll look different, but I think it'll be OK. I did run it while it was laying on the ground and it ran smooth then.

I hope the pics turn out OK. Haven't posted pics for a year so I'm a little rusty. I hope they're sized right. Jim

Kinda scary when a piece of equipment like that, goes down unexpectedly just when you need it.

Glad you got er back up without too much trouble.

Glad to hear it worked out ok. If it was up on the bin we always tied it with a rope around the body of the auger. Or used a come along to a loop on the side of the auger and to the top of the bin. Then wrapped a tarp around the down spout to prevent that from happening.

Looks like ya did an excellent job and the ol' heifer is none the worse for wear.

Hat's off to ya. :>)

Id think about pulling the flighting out and making sure there are no bent spots in the screw. from the impact of the fall over. Seen many augers lay down, and work, but had some bent tips on the screw. made the whole thing shake when it was loaded with grain. If it sits out in the sun on a warm day, check for bowing, then readjust a tad to help get it straighter. Inspect the bolts on the flanges where the tube joins, have seen bolts half broke and barely holding the tubes together. Looks like a 60'+

I got a rebuilt kewanne 8X60 ready to go if any body needs one! Oil bath drive, pto driven, also have electric mounts to convert. CHad

Hey jim

Glad to see you got that straightened out. The way you do things I am sure it will work just fine.

Just wondering have you guys been picking over in my territory? Seen a couple of yellow machines over here.

You are welcome. Sometimes simple and direct action is several orders of magnitude less expensive than having the perfect tool at hand. It should be fine. JimN
