I just aquired an old golden jubilee. I would like to drain the gear oil and replace it. What weight and type oil was recomended and how many quarts for this tractor.

You'd probably get alot more info from EITHER of the ford sections on this website.

Next sugestion... time to buy a manual for that nifty lil tractor... they are full of usefull info.

crankcase 5qts w/ filter

tranny, 6qts
diffy, 8qts
hyds, 8qts

You can use UTF fluid meeting the M2C134D spec in all 3 rear sumps.. or you can use 80w90 gea oil in the diffy and trans, and hyd fluid or utf in the hyds sump.

The manual would tell you ths.. but there are 3 drans.. rear drain is a pipe plug under the diffy, forward of that is the trans bung drain.. forward of that is the crankcase bung drain.

tranny fill is on sifter cover.. hyds fill is under left leg.. diffy fill is under right but cheek.

tranny level is checked by a check plug on the right side of the trans about where your right heel would be.. be carefull and don't pull out any locator pins!

hyds level is checked via dipstick..

diffy level is checked by a pip plug on rear of the left axle trumpet.
