i have a john deere 6030 that recently was rebuilt after splitting it,the problem is that after it was going back together the mainshaft caught the clutch bearing, this 1 guy said thats the hardest part getting it all the way together, needless to say it broke the rear shaft bearing holder then the shaft moved backwards, nothing else got broke, but after being repaired, now it is stuck in 4th gear, could there be trouble in the shifter cam?i resplit it and thats the tight area it seems ,but everything looks fine, the hi/low/reverse synchros look good and still work too,its just the shifter cam seems to be tight ,the shifter lever and linkage work fine when unhooked ,does anyone have a clue as to whats going on that makes it not want to shift,i dont want to put too much pressure to anything yet either, but if it has to stay in 4th its ok ,i can deal with it but just needs to be able to go thru the gears again, thanks

When you put that tractor back together, rock the pto shaft back and forth to help the main shaft align itself with the splines on the clutch disk. You won't break the bearing holder or ruin the shaft that way. This method also works on the 3010's, 4010's, 4020's, ect.

no the damage has been done and fixed but it is either hard to shift now or something is still bad though everything looks good
