Morning,

Have to take a trip to the London area tomorrow. Anybody know of any good stops to check out some equipment. I know there is one JD dealer on the way. Anything else?

Just a day trip, or will you be there awhile??
If you"ll be there with time to kill, someone on smokstak was trying to get info on his gggdfathers ag implement firm based in London (John Elliott & Sons, 1850s-??)(Warrior plows etc).
He advises Hist Soc there doesn"t reply (probably part time volunteers) and pub lib not online.
Would take some time digging thru records so not something to be tried on a one or two day trip.

Taking the 402 across to London?
I'm in London Tomorrow for a medical appointment.
The Mandarin restaurant on Wellington Rd just north of Commissioners serves a marvelous buffet for $11.95 at noon.
There is a Princess Auto Store on Exeter Road just west of Wellington.
What kind of Deere equipment are you looking for?
If you get a chance to attend the Oil Springs museum it's supposed to be informative. 1st commercial North American oil well. One year ahead of Drake in Pennsylvania.

Forgot to mention, Elliott's foundry was the Phoenix Foundry at Bathurst and Wellington.
Googling "Phoenix Foundry" is hilarious; every other foundry owner in the english-speaking world must've named theirs "the Phoenix"; neat name for a foundry once you think of it.

Are you taking London Line or 402?

London line will have more scenery...

On the way over, I'll be on the 402, on the way home, I won't have any rush.

What is the London line? Is it an alter. route to the 402?

Within the next 2-3 years, I am looking at a 65hp tractor, NH TN65-75, JD 5325 or 5425. And a skidsteer. I want to start tire kicking now, so when it comes time to buy, I'm ready.

I"d shy away from a JD 5000,5010,5020,5025. A 5005 or late 4WD 5003 series is ok.
London Rd/County 22 runs parallel with the 402 until the 402 turns south to join the 401.
London Rd brings you into London from the north side.
There is a Deere dealership in Exeter about 1/2 hour north of there.
You could pass through Lucan where the Black Donleys raised caine and were later massacred.

Fulline Farm and Garden is located on Longwoods road at Glencoe,about 20 min off the 402,we are a John Deere dealer

If you have time, go past London to Stratford and go east along Hwy7 and check out Hahn's. I have never bought there but they have a heck of an assortment. Watch out for the OPP. I was out to Sarnia a few days ago and they were real busy picking off the rapid.

Alot of this is repeated but Huron Tractor in Exeter-JD Advantage farm Equipment in Wyoming-Massey/AGCO I would really recommend Hahn's. I've never been there but I would like to go someday. Delta farm equipment in Watford has alot of stuff as well. hope this helps you out a bit. There's more that I can't think of right now.
