Mouse free barn

Tiger here has pretty much wiped out my barn's mice population. What she hasn't caught, she's scared off into the next county.

Now if I can only get her to come in the house and do the same. Fat chance. She loves that barn so much this is as far as she'll come, roosting on the Case after a good chase.

Anyone want to rent her out ? I'll give you YT guys a good deal...

I need a couple of those...the darn critters around our barn were busy last summer chewing up electric wires and radiator hoses on the combine! DOH!

I've got 12 cats, most are hunters, but they have developed a taste for ground squirrels (aka MN state gopher 13 striped) and the mice & rats here at the farm just don't quite go away. There are lass, but not gone. Spent $1400 on new wiring for the combine - don't want to see any damage on that machine. :)

You got it ALL in the picture ... the Flag , the tractor ,[ nice looking Case tractor ] the mouse control , and a nice place for the tractor and cat to stay out of the weather...

Hi Mark, How's the weather in Iowa? Rain is forecasted for here on Sat. Pretty dry here. It was 31 F here this morning. Hal

Looks like she'll do the trick! I haven't seen a mouse around here since about a two weeks after I first got chickens. Between them and the cats, they keep the place pretty "rodent free", including squirrels.

There have been a couple of moles I've found "Mole-ested" in the barn. My cats won't eat them, but will kill them.

Yep can't find a mouse on my place but the cats are getting so bad that I'm not sure if the trade off is the better deal. I have probably 20 plus in the barn and 5 in the house so if any body wants a cat just let me know and you can have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc.etc.

She spent over $5000.00 on Moe. He swallowed a chunk of her rubber mat that she work's out on.
I have a pic of his belly from the surgery. Hal

You think that's bad? We've got somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 cats, from seniors to kittens. Every now & then we'll notice a new cat- yep people from the city drop them off at eh first farm outside of the city.

We've got one cat that's been declawed- and I can promise you we don't pay any vet bills on the feline population. Let nature take it's course.

We have to feed them, but in return when they're fed they'll go hunting. When they're hungry, they're too lazy to hunt. They'l catch the typical mice & rats, voles, moles, and then rabbits. Full grown rabbits that are sometimes bigger than the cat that catches them.

We too have about 50 cats to keep the mouse population down. No livestock anymore, so that also helps, but normally do not see any mice in the field within a quarter mile of home. I mix up calf milk and feed with some cat food every day. The population of cats seems to be limited to about 50 to 60 by simply leaving or something.
There are some of the cats that I really get attached to, but most are pretty wild. Haven't had a mouse in my combine or anything else for a long time. Main reason for putting up with the cats and their mess.

anyone ever see the statistic that house cats are the number 1 killer of songbirds?Dont know if its true or not, just remember seeing it somewhere. Bill M.

BS on song birds.Farmer kept a tally on his cats catches.Cat always left them on the back porch.Count ran 95% rodents.I notice the same ratio on our cats kills.
