Hello all, I am currently helping a friend rewire an IH B414. He's got a Hitachi alternator to replace the Lucas generator but it's labelled differently to a Delco so I'm a little out to sea. So far as I know the alternator originally came off a John Deere tractor. There are 4 connection points, labelled F,N,E, and A. I know that E is a ground and A is the main output terminal. F and N are two spade connections that are perpendicular to each other, with the side that has two mounting ears down, F is vertical and N is horizontal. Does anyone know which is the sensing terminal and which is the excitation terminal? Many thanks, tractorsam
