Until I can get a shed built for it my Ford NAA will have to sit outside. Last time I went to start it I couldn't get the starter to engage the ring gear. Took the starter off and found the bendix was all rusty. How do you clean a rusty starter bendix? How do you keep it from rusting again?

you can clean it in fuel unless you have a parts cleaner. just work it in with a brush an keep working it and rinsing it. But, you have to clean the oil off after with something like carb or brake cleaner because the oil will attract dirt and dust, and there is a lot of it in that clutch housing.BTDT. So you want to also while you have the starter out, do your best to get down in with a vacuum cleaner wand to clean dust out.
