JD H Starter Removal 1941

Fellas; I thought it was a Snap to remove the Delco Starter from My H But I was Mistaken, Seems like theres not enough Clearance between the Fan Shaft and back of the Starter, Am I missing something here, or does the fan shaft have to come out of the Housing, If in fact it does PLEASE EXPLAIN any Complications I might run into,(with this Shaft removal) Thanks! Larry
 
Just unbolt the starter bracket from the side of the crankcase, then the starter and bracket can be lifted straight up.
 
Thanks for reply, There IS alot of Grease/Dirt Buildup on this Original tractor, Are You saying take the Flywheel COVER off,BUT I didn't See any other stuff to take off referring to unbolting from crank case, please explain more ?? thanks alot Larry

THANKS! Blinwmi... You were Exactly Right,, Really this thing has about 2Inches of crap on it from about 60Yrs.. But I finally saw those Three Bolts and all's well, Thanks again Larry
