Home-Made tractors

Hey Folks,
I was bored and surfing a little. Ran across these pics. Before the wall came down, the folks in the former East Germany had a hard time getting some necessities. Long waiting lists, high prices, etc. so made their own stuff. East Germany was called the DDR (Deutsche DEMOKRATische Republik). Keep that in mind in the next couple of weeks. The folks that lived there are some pretty creative folks though.

Have fun,

Dave

Y"know, I just can"t really put my finger onnit...but I think Dave"s maybe trying to tell us something??...Deutsche DEMOKRATische Republik???...
Gee, I dunno if my German (actually, Austrian) half oughtta feel complimented on our ingenuity or insulted at our choices in political parties...I"m gonna hafta puzzle over this for awhile, after I figure out what kind of a system Washington is using these days...it"s a puzzlement, as the King said...LOL

Ahhh, only too true...
Makes me so grateful we have a choice of two such...uhhhh...of two....ummm...of two such...
Oh, well, poor choices are still a lot better than no choices at all.

Along the same line, the thought occurred to me in the past day or two-- I'm kind of surprised someone (like Kinze) hasn't come up with a tractor powered with a railroad locomotive engine.

My Dad back in 1964 Built a Homemade tractor, using a 50 Ford Rear end Chopped of, 53 Ford Steering , Belt Drive and a Welded frame, 10HP B-S Engine W/Gear reduction...Roper Start. I STILL HAVE THIS TRACTOR and use it Daily!!Would never part with it,, Larry KF4LKU
