IH 400 LP how many made?

How do i tell if a farmall 400 is factory LP? How many of these did they make at the factory? What are the advantages over the gas and diesel models? More power or not?

I would be interested to know how many were made myself.

don't remember what it is but their is a code in the serial number that would tell if the bellhousing is for a original LP farmall.

Just looked in my 400 parts book it says that the model designation for LP should be 400-L.

do you have one? How much is a running 400 lp worth with no fenders or draw bar, has weights and looks good. and good tires and rims?

I have got 2 in Texas that are for sale. They need work, but they are all there. As best I can figure out they made 400 LP's , but they didn't use the new style head until about mid serial number range and up.

How much do you want for yours and do they run? What are the ranges in serial #s and what would be mid range? Where can I find out how many were made?
