worst buy ever

A long while ago we used to say that MF stood for mend frequently and it certently has not changed here in the UK. MJ

1991 Lincoln executive series. It was a money pit. BTW I couldn't afford it new. It was 10 years old with 80,000 miles on it.

1989 Ford F350. Seems like I replaced everything on that truck. Got it running good & sold it. Probably should have kept it to make it pay for itself, just couldn't stand to look at it any more.

Bought a cream puff '86 Caddy that belonged to the mother of one of our customers (little old lady, never driven in bad weather, etc. etc.)within a week the transmission went out then everything that turned went bad - alternator, starter, blower motor, fuel pump, U-joints and so on. After all was fixed I did put a 100,000 miles on it!

Almost anything from Harbor Freight.

Bent the scratch awl tip first time using.

Their step drill bit broke off in the hole

Drift punch is not bent.

96 Chevy 2500 4x4 automatic. Bought it in 2001, replaced a/c, water pump, radiator, 2 alternators, 6 batteries, wiper control, pwr brake motor, exhaust sytem, cd player, internal fuel lines, rear end, front idler arm & stabilizer, intake manifold gasket, and that"s just what I can remember without looking at the receipts in the file.

1995 chevy lumina for my wife it was 6 yrs. old had heard alot of talk about how durable these cars were total piece of crap replaced/repaired everything one could think of will never own anotherlumina or most likely another chevrolet first/last i ever bought

Somebody else's worst turned out to be one of my best. Some years back, I hired a secretary, and a few days later I drove my wife's rig to work- '84 GMC conversion van with 6.2 diesel. She asked how I liked it, etc.- I said it was great. She started laughing- "You don't remember- you bought that from my husband and I several years ago. I'm laughing because we sold it because we were tired of fixing it." I had it for several years, put about 150K miles on it, very minimal problems (transmission went out at about 225K). I still see it around town occasionally, and present owner says pushing 400K miles, and still doin' fine.

Funny how things work!!! I bought my 89 F350 15 years ago.Which is my best buy.Everythings original except the wear down stuff.Runs like a charm. Now of course gas comsumption aint nuthin to brag about with that 460ci.and rust is a serious issue, but hey cant have everything.

(quoted from post at 11:00:44 10/16/08) My worst buy was a 825 Belarus 4WD, the 4wd is very weak and there is always something wrong with it.

You mean the patented Belarus

"disadvantages of a fwa with the traction of a 2wd" system?

Or the "you need 40 acres to turn left, but only 35 acres to turn right" fwa axle

1957 Volkswagon Beetle cold, cold, cold and did I mention cold. Engine was in and out so many times the bolt holes were wearing out. Transmission would not stay in gear unless held there by hand on shift lever. Oil cooler busted and oil went everywhere and smoke came into cabin. Throttle cable siezed in housing. Battery caused the rear floor to rot out. Fuel pump pin came out in any weather colder than zero degrees.

Allis C. A wore out, welded together, and worthless peice of sh^t. I still hate it. It was the biggest waist of money i ever saw. I wish i'd never bought it. Glad i did though, learned something and met hillbillyOH.

Most of its engine ended up in my B.

1968 ford f-150 with a 360 and 3 speed. Its seven miles to school and it took 3 gallons to make the round trip. and a quart of oil

One hell of a rare truck since they didn't make a '68 F-150

Let me correct myself. 1939 Allis B. Over $1500 in it, been taken apart 4 times, and this is the 4th time i've attempted to put it back together. I hate the thing. I want it done so i can drive it back behind the barn where ill never have to look at the worthless thing. It was really fun for a while, now its just f^cking old. No, its not the valve that wont set, the front wheels that dont turn, all the gaskets i've cut, or staring at that hidious orange brush job, its just the hope and promise i held out for that tractor. Its the 10 long months and everything i've sacrificed for this thing. Im never doing this again. If i f^cked something up it stays in there for some stupid person to buy and try to fix. Im sick of it, just plain sick of it. This will be the last tractor i ever buy.

bought 7 acers of land sopose to be water front paid 7000 for it thought i was stealing it jokes on me it didnt exist joke was on me but what the hec i made 30000 on the other piece i bought

85 Caddy. After I fixed something I thought at least I don't have to worry about that part. But then two weeks later the same thing would go wrong again. Kept it 11 mo. and was so sick of fixing it I traded it to the first person that would take it.

John Deere 105 combine when they were still current. I had a 55 and wanted a bit more capacity. I hadn't been in the field 15 minutes before I figured out I got rid of a better combine than I bought. And the 105 really wouldn't cut that many more acres in a day than the 55.

I always said I made two mistakes with that 105. The first was when I bought it and the second was when it got on fire I put the fire out. I should have let it burn and collected the insurance.

Sent my wife to pick her out a new car, Chevette 1985. Being a GM family, nothing could go wrong. Pontiac dealer, Tessier, wrote it up for 2 grand over sticker. I walked the contract in and tore it up in his face. He corrected his gouge and then stole my rebate, like 600. Used whiteout and made rebate out to himself. Dealership never made it right and I never again bought GM even though I worked for them 32 years.
