I got an older what I think is a swing type under differential drawbar. It is about 5 ft. long X about 4 in. w/ X 2in. thick with a drop down for the ball and several other holes up the bar, it also has a swing arm clamp ( on the bar )? Looks like it goes over something and than tightens down with 2 bolts. Can this fit a 1940 9n and if so how? I think it came from a 8n but not sure. I need to setup a drawbar to tow a trailer to haul wood for the winter.
Thanks

FYI: I can send out a photo if needed.

9N's and 2N's can't use the under-the-differential drawbars... there's nothing there for them to bolt on to. 8N's were the first to have provisions for this. 9/2N's are limited to a drawbar that fits the 3-point arms, with 'stay straps' running up to the top link hole.

A 4 inch wide by 2 inch thick drawbar has to have come off of a much larger tractor than a 8n or 9n Ford. Not saying it couldn't be made to work, but you don't need quite that much iron on a small tractor.

a number of years ago, someone posted an addaptor he designed that bolted to the trsnsmission/rear end. was two pieces of steel that went around and bolted to another piece at the bottom. wonderful arrangement. what it does is provide a place under the differential that you can bolt the after market swinging drawbar kit for the 8N. I printed it but have missplaced it. I would like someone to publish it again. Thanks in advance

My first thought would be a 3-point reciever hitch, but 9Ns have only have a draft control. Maybe this could be reposted on the Ford 9N board, those guys know what they are talking about.

Forgive me, I cant figure out how to put a link to this, but if you want to see a picture of a 9N draw bar go to my9n.com click image depo then click granddads drawbar
