I'm gonna hang the family jewels out into the wind with this question.

In your troubleshooting sequence for charging problems, you refer to "lil" in front of - or +. You use it enough that it's gotta be short for somethin', but durned if if I've been able to figure out what.

Can ya help me out so's I can pull my drawers back up before the missus gets home? ;8^)

Thanks!

That was where I went first with it, but what do little - and little + mean?? I'm thinkin' it's gotta be shorthand for somethin' else (probably terribly and embarrassingly obvious) that is escapin' me.

I yap so much I need shorthand anytime I can get it lol. I meant the "little" + and - terminals on a typical can type ignition coil cuz most any gents recognize them versus the BIG center High Voltage Tower. Probably NOT the best choice of words but hey I do my best.

Yall take care now

Thanks, John. Myself, I've never been known to yap at any length. LOL!! Your explanation is a beaut, if only for its simplicity.

Thanks, too, for puttin' that troubleshootin' guide together and makin' it available. I keep a printed copy of it in front of the binders that I keep for the manuals on both my tractors. It's helped me out on both of them.

Whew! I stepped into the the same thing I stepped into (if that makes sense?!?!?!?)

John's answered it above. It wasn't a case of asking about +/-. John has an excellent, step-by-step troubleshooting guide for isolating and correcting charging problems on tractors.

Out in the middle of it he refers to the "lil -" and the "lil +" terminals on the coil. Being prone to intellectual curiosity, I thought that lil might be a shorthand of some sort. John's explanation above dispels any such notion in a way that does not disparage intellectual curiosity (It's short for little as opposed to big + and - symbols on the top of the coil.) I was tryin to over work it and make an lol or a btdt out of lil.

But I feel much better now that he's set me straight. How mortifyin'! ;8^)
