O/T Hearing aids

Getting on in life and not hearing as good as I did when a lot younger and my older wife not doing any better we went up to Portland to look into hearing aids. I have Kaiser Ins and they do all the testing and such for little or nothing.
After the test we went to see the gal who would show us what we could get and all the options. As soon as she found out that I love high tek stuff she came up with a hearing aid that has a remote control and Blue tooth connection to five different things like your Tv Mobile phone and Ipod, I think it will also put the lid on the toilet down and zips your pants up just in case.
I went with the idea of spending about $1500 to $2000 for ea. of us. It cost me just about $10,000 That's 3 times what my first new car cost me.
Well if you don't here from me for a while you wil know that I am playing with my toys. I wonder if they pick up UFOs

WOW, that's expensive. I spent about $2,00 for mine last year. About the best money I've spent though. I was getting to where I would not talk to people because I could not tell what they were saying to me. Now, it's a new world. Let us know if all the high tech works with the hearing device.
Congratulation. I hope it works out for both of you like it did for me.

I have tinninitus [ringing in the ears]this year I could hear frogs an crickets for the first time in about the last 5 yrs. since I quit taking BP medicine. still have problems in a crowd--Sounds like a gaggle of geese not even one word is recognisable in my language. I must need one too.

Just wondering if the ringing would be louder also.

The other thing that was bothering me was I hear that you lose sence of direction.--- Can't tell where the sound is comeing from. Is that true?

I wish they would have had those little foam ear plugs when I was in the process of ruining my hearing as a teenager. Course no one could have made me use the things.

Chainsaws, handguns, rifles but probably the worst was the fender mounted radio on the ole 706. Run the tractor all day with the radio on full blast and leaning into it so I could "hear" it over the engine noise!

I think I'll buy one one of those $14.95 gadgets they advertise on cable TV. I mean it's almost a miracle according to the ad, right?

My tinnitis is so bad that I sometimes have trouble going to sleep. If I run something loud or listen to something high pitched, I hear it the rest of the day. Hearing tests are useless. One day, I'll break down and go to a doctor I guess.
