Just a few pics from today.
We kind of have a running joke about "if the sun is up your late". This morning I was on time.

Another sunrise over the Land of Lincoln.

DSCN1729.jpg

A glimpse in at 10,000 bushells of corn while it dries.

A picture from a different vantage point.

The day starts to wind down as the sun starts to drop behind the combine.

As the sun disappears behind a lonely farmstead on the horizon the slow march of harvest will continue well into the night on many farms across the Illinois prarie.

Great pics. Always good to see what the rest of the country looks like. Makes you appreciate what we have here in the USA in spite of the news and TV.

Another person that is thanking you for the pics. The guys here are running corn and saying the moisture is high.We got lots of rain so its almost rutting up the fields,in spots it is.I am still learning how to use the camera maybe someday I can post some pics too.

Your welcome guys and thanks for all the nice words. I just decided a year ago last spring that I could get some pretty nice pics if I just carried a camera with me when I was farming. You know how it is, the things you see when you dont have a camera, well I fixed that problem. It doesnt take much time or effort I just have it with me on whatever I'm driving. I would love to see pics of farming in other parts of the country. So if you have a camera and can get some pics of something like cotton harvest or rice harvest I think everyone on here would love to see that as I know I have really enjoyed Allan's dryland wheat and hay farm. As far as posting pics, if I can figure it out anyone can do it and there are guys on here that will help ya out. Better get going, suns coming up so I'm about to be late.

Just wondering where you buy your seed corn? Is it grown here in the USA or down in South American or some other place.?
