john deere A carb problems

i got a 1951 john deere A and i went out one day and started it and it wont start i have been messing with the idle and air mixture screw on the carb and now it wont start what might be my problem and how do i fix it? thanks

Hi Chris-Problem w/51 A might not be carb at all. Might be points in distributor. If you've got a good spark you will need to pull carb and take it apart and soak it in carb cleaner for a while.You must get all ports clean. Use a wire but do not damage ports. Drills are being offered to clean ports as well-be careful to avoid braking drill off in carb.

The starting adjustments are idle screw 1 3/4 turn out and load 1 turn out.
