Farmall serial number

My father inlaw has purchased a Farmall F20. We are having trouble getting the exact year. Looking at the stamped platewith model and serial number I have Fa27166 for a serial number. I havent found any info on what year it is, I cant get anything to match up off of the numerous lists of what model serial numbers were produced what years. If anyone could give me some help on this it would be gratly appreciated in the restore of this tractor.

You have to read between the lines. The numbers given in those lists are the very first serial number for any given year, so look for a serial number in the list that is lower than, but not greater than your number.

reference serial number list to left side of page should be about a 1935. check left frame rail for stamped number, tool box may have been changed, number also is stamped on engine block, same story may have been changed,
