2600 when driving is jerky at high rpm's. this is particular when turning. machine is somewhat hard to control at higher rpm's. the machine also squells when the machine loads up. would assume that the belt is coming loose. how tight does the belt need to be tensioned?

Isaiah, If I recall correctly, you may have some
loosness in your T bar controls linkage. Also if
your T bar levers are too loose this can happen.
You may need to tighten the springs and pads that
snug the lever to the track. Look for play where
those little linkage ends are fastened to the
levers. The nuts tend to loosen and the linkage
will "rock" where the nut goes on. Chuck

Check the roll pins that fasten the control levers onto the hydrostatic drives, I"ve found these pins can become deformed, broken and in some cases are missing.

You may find the control arm worn where the pin and or shaft reside, this can be repaired by making a narrow slit 90 degrees from the roll pin hole and replacing the pin with a 1/4" cap screw.
