electronic choke???

Hey folks,
I found a new carb that will fit my quad, but it has an electronic choke. Can someone tell me how it works in dummy terms? Is it something I can hook up a switch to or make it work manual?

There's more then one type of electric choke. Some - like on outboard motors - use an electric servo to simply pull the choke closed when you hit a button. Other chokes use a bi-metallic coil that automatically pulls the choke close when cold - and an electric heat coil heats the coil to open it fast once the ignition circuit is energized.
