8n wont start

1952 8n wont start, drove it home, made a few passes around the property and it stalled, started it and it ran and stalled again, it did this a few times now wont start at all, new plugs, points cap, rotor, condenser, plug wires, still wont start,getting gas to the carb, points are getting spark but not in the right place, not between the two contact points. anybody got any ideas?

I would suggest that you look things over very closely inside your distributor and wires leading to it. Check your timing against the compression stroke on #1 cylinder.

Has it been converted to 12 volt?

Pull No1 sparkplug near the radiator and bring that piston to TDC on the compression stroke. Then pull the distributor cap and see where the rotor is pointing. It should be at the No1 plug tower. Hal

one other thing, the points are getting spark, but not where they make contact at the ends,along the sides when you short them out.
