OMG--couldn't get sound clear enough on my set to listen thru, but if this's another replay of the urban legend that the CRA (Community Reinvestment Act, not Community Redevelopment Act) caused the mtg debacle, please Google the CRA and review for yourself.

Giving people home loans that had no hope of paying them back certainly has been a major contributor to this mess
Starting to hear this more in the news media too.
This has to be a very small percentage of the market. First you would have people that don't work, then you would have people that won't follow through on the application process, then if they have free housing, food stamps, medical, why would they jeopardize this with home ownership?

Aside from the obvious political slant, I found this video very educational. I never realized subprime loans were mandated by our gov't, or that institutions were being sued for not making enough of them. I think this is what abundant politics gives you.
The chart showing the decoupling of home prices and CPI when CRA was enacted / reinacted seems to be a smoking gun in my mind.
