Just got the notices about the changes in green acres, what the heck is this state trying to do to farmers, drive us away. What a flippin joke. Soil and water conservation wants me to NOT pasture all my woods because its bad for the woods and soil(per them), but now if I want it included in the green acres it has to be pastured. Guess I better fence the pond in as well and just about every square inch I own that isnt tillable. I just enrolled in it last year. What a bunch of crap, land around here is selling $5000+ for ag, non ag is bringing $10,000 or more, so they say, My representatives are gonna get a few calls and an earful today!

You sign up to get their money and read all the fine print takes lawyers to explain you have to play by their ever changing rules and it really doesn't belong to you anymore. You are just playing their control games to take it over from you for their money. Agriculture needs government and Wall St. to but out and sustain itself just like Wall St. needs to learn to or wind up being owned by someone else. None of it's going to be green or rosy when the dust settles.

And if you have 10 animal units, you need govt ok to have livestock.

Folks are moving to Mo. from this state with livestock.
