The fall auction season is starting. I was wondering, with things as they are,how are the sale prices doing?
There are several near here soon [Georgia],I plan on taking a few things to.
Thought maybe some of you may have attended some sales lately.

seems like everything is selling as they should to high here in MN. Crops look pretty good around here, so everyone feels like a good fall is ahead. Good deals are hard to find.

Went to a consignment after church today, but left before they got to the equipment and tractors - they were taking FOREVER on every little piece. Was at a farm sale yesterday, most stuff went somewhat high, I thought, except for the chopper boxes (why were they cheap? it's in season) and a set of 20.8x38 duals that I got (with clamps) for $250. Consensus around here is that money is coming out at auctions, but stuff in the classifieds and on dealer lots isn't moving well.

I hate when they take forever to sell something.

I was on a farm sale once, waiting for them to get to an IH two-point 8 foot blade. I swear they were selling steel fence posts one at a time. (I got the blade).

Good used equipment is still bringing good prices. New equipment prices aren't coming down any last I heard so used will still bring all it's worth or more. Some junk is not since scrap iron price came back down some. Too many got big fall crops coming on but not looking at the big picture down the road what they may not be worth next year this time.

Last weekend in central mi. we had a biannual consignment sale ran by the local amish community. Machinery went cheaper than the last few years but variety wasnt there. Tractors were mostly classics of all colors.Saw a 49 b john deere not sell because top bid was $1600.The same man had a 51 A john deere and top bid was $1700. Wasnt going to sell but the auctioneer talked seller into lowering the reserve to 1900 and it sold. Both were extremely well preserved and maintained. Of course this is the yr. I had done repairs around the house and didnt have the little extra $$$ to buy.Maybe next yr.
