i have a mf super 90 was working good shifted into revers and lost clutch or somthing wont go forward or back any help in trouble shooting please

Gear shift lever may have slipped out of shift rails in trans. Neighbors MF65 used to slip out once in a while, seems we managed to get it back, but I can't remember how.

Common issue,
FIgure out how to remove the shifter lever from the trans top. Pins, or bolts on a plate likely.
Look inside and find shift rails. move the to alignment with a big screwdriver. Look at the tip of the lever, and weld up the worn place/s then file/grind to tight in the rail slots when in gear. Good luck. JimN

If the engine runs, but the tractor will not move, and with the clutch out the engine just keeps running, the following may help.
If it has a high low trans, make sure it is not between gears.
If it stopped when pulling and made noise, it could be trans gears. If it has a belt pulley does it work with clutch out, and not with it in.?
If you take out the fill plug you can see gears. If they turn with the clutch out, and stop with it in, the differential,or final drive may be toast. Look in other fill or level plug holes for movement. If draining oil produces many small parts, that is the place to look. JimN

Does this tractor have multi-power? Is it a direct? If it's a multi-power check your linkage, valves, and pressures. Also, if I remember correctly (it's been a LONG time since I worked on one) there should be an inspection plate on the torque tube. If you are suspecting the clutch, pull it or the starter. and take a look. If it's a multi-power and fluid comes out...that's not a good thing.

The center spring assembly in clutches often go bad. When they do the unit will not move. I suspect a split of the tractor will be needed befor it is done. JimN
