Tractors vs Politics

Politics: Bad! Politics make enemies. Tractors: Good! Tractors make friends. Print and post this on your computer and read it before deciding on what to post.
 
It's hard to stay away from, I went to buy a gravity box, not a bad deal, Minnesota Jumbo gear and a rusty but big Kory box. $250. Anyway, we spent 1 1/2 hours talking about politics local and federal, even a little Mexican politics. 2 hours later I talked to a neighbor about his tractor I may buys, after 15 minutes it turned to politics. Nothing confrontational, just talking smack and saying our 2 cents about what we feel is wrong. 30 year gap in age and our view were pretty esquel, that's with him being a nnalert and I being a conservative nnalert.
 
That must have been refreshing. I consider myself a slightly conservative nnalert and I dislike extremes of either direction. I'm just poking fun at some of the more rabid political posts. I wonder what would external_link and McCain grow if they were farmers? Cattle for McCain and a winery (not Whinery!) for external_link?
 
Yes it seems no matter what you post now adays someone is slamming the other party I could careless give a sh-- what you are. Join in in with some knowledge or keep the hell away from tractor forum.
 
Good point Richard, as Ive said before one thing I like about antique tractor folks is that most are traditional Conservative Christians which is how I was raised, most are NOT among the ranks or fans of Hanoi Jane Fonda and that abundant elite Hollywood crowd like Streisand and Shawn Penn etc. and respect and honor our veterans.

What you say Richard is not really true, when I talk "RED" Tractors --- some one on the GREENE Side is slamming me,,, when I talk "Greene" Tractors -- some one on the Red side is Slamming me,,, JUST Like Politics
 
One minute pleeze. All are not christian. I am two days walk from Bagdad. I come on dis site hopping to find info on my goat.
no have tractor, I pray to Allah all the minutes for a Farmall H, but for too long I not get. Damned tired of goat, and have to pull ze plow with donkey. Wife can pyll more than donkey, but she mostly cranky. Plus donkey smell better.

Discussing politics isn't bad, its name-calling that's bad. People can disagree without being disagreeable. The problem is that you're anonymous on an internet forum, and some people say things that they wouldn’t if they were talking face to face. Another poster said that people say rude things to him because of his tractor brand. Politics isn’t the problem, rudeness is.
 
I have also notice that of all the topics here on YT forums this topic ( Tractor Talk) is the worse for getting off topic and downright nasty. The Ford or the 8n,9N,2N and other topics stay pretty civil and on the point of tractors.
It seems like at aleast half of all the posts here have nothing to do with tractors.
 
I for one would wish that their was NO political BS here. I look forward to the info here that people are trying to help other people, yes ever one has their say, but I realy don't think it belongs here on politicals in this type of a foram.
 
i think that those who spend a lot of time on tractors have a lot of reason to think about politics...those of us who spend a lot of time in traffic wanting to be on tractors have a lot of time to think about politics.
At least we aren't talking about the human mating ritual- except for all those posts about Matt...
This is what i find interesting: folks with such similar interests can have such disparate views on politics!
It's a lot like TV...you control the mouse, it don't control you...skip it if you don't want to read it
