equipment width question

I need some sort of equation to calculate how fast a piece of equipment can do something a any said speed. Lets say 35 ft at 4.5 mph or what ever. I was also wondering what the average yields were for differnet yields are for crops such a wheat, canola, barley, etc. in sw sask. I'm just trying to figure out whether the guys that drag a $300000 combine across 5000 acres of poor yielding crops make money. Thank you in advance for any answers

Width (in feet) x speed (m.p.h) divided by 10 = acres/hr. That assumes 100% efficiency (no overlaps, turning, unloading etc.) In actual practice, effieciency seldom exceeds 80% and may fall below 50% in smaller, odd shaped fields, so you need to multiply the answer you obtain above by your efficiency factor.
