Hello everyone,
Do any of you know, would it be possible to switch the rear leaf springs from a 2500 chevy into a 1500HD...... I have a half ton that maybe a dozen times a year, I wish had just a little more capacity.......We did this with our Fords, but since this my first Chevy......I look for wisdom. Thanks for your input.
Have a beautiful day,
Tom

I had a 1996 Ford F-150 4X4 and the rear leafs cracked, so I replaced them with a 5 leaf pack from a light duty F-250, put shocks for the same and it was the best hauling and best towing vehicle I have ever owned. I now own a 2003 F-250 SD with a diesel and 6 speed trans, thinking about putting 1 ton springs and shocks and see if it has the same results. If you do it rember to not over load truck, bigger springs will make too easy to do so.

will absolutely swap...also so nice air bag additions for those trucks.
Also works for the coil springs on late Suburbans- unbeleivably, there is NO CargoCoil type HD aftermarket spring available for the rear of a late 1500 Suburban...thankfully, the heavier 2500 spring went right in
