3 pt hitch ford

1955 ford 800 3 pt hitch wont go up just fall down i can lift up the 2 bars with my hands with no restrick tion is there a shear pin or some think like that in side the houseing

If the pump is properly primed and it still won't lift then I'd say the unload valve is stuck. quite common on those tractors.
Try removing the bleeder on the top of hte hydraulic pump and crankig the engine over with the coil wire removed. Get the air out and then putthe plug back in. See what happens...

If the unload valve is stuck you're best to remove the lift cover and go through it..

You can normaly lift the arms They ar not pinned to the piston. Only a rod in a socket. Rod probably has the answer as to the cause.
