About 10:30 this morning we moved to the field. Corn is standing good, moisture is going to average about 23% and the yield is as good as expected. Hope to get a weigh wagon in the field tomorrow and check yield monitor calibration. The only problem is ground conditions are a little spongy. We have had lots of rain in the last couple weeks and that half inch of rain last night didnt help either.
The first pass.
These were the first wagon loads and as you can see they arent full to the brim but 4520 wouldn't even wiggle them. I went and got the 4020 and tried with them hooked together for about a half hour. Broke a couple of chains and the holes were just getting deeper. We were able to unhook the wagons from each other and then the two tractors hooked together pulled them out one at a time but not without a couple of tries. Parked the wagons out on the road the rest of the day. We will see what tomorrow brings. A nice fall day and another good crop helps you forget times like this.
