OT: grain truck carb

Anyone out there know what the correct Holley carb is for a 1975 International Loadstar 1700 with 392 engine.

Likely a Holley.

Is your's 2 or 4 BBL?

A carb parts book, such as Hygrade, or Tomco or NAPA/Echlin will probably give you a pretty good idea of what it came with.

P.S....

Do you need the exact, "numbers correct" part for a thorough restoration, or just a replacement carb?

If you just need a replacement unit, and it's a 4BBL, the Edelbrock re-makes of the ThermalQuads seem to work well on truck engines in the the 350 to 427 CID range, and are readily available in 600 or 750 CFM versions with automatic or manual choke.

Old lead mechanic from Oliver dealer we used to work at was looking for replacement for the Holley on the truck now. Numbers were illegible. I alwasys liked the t'quads on my big block Mopars thanks for the idea, I've never been a fan of Holleys, more marketing hype than substance.

put an edelbrock performer 600 on my chevy pickup, 350. too small, but it was super easy to reneedle and jet. runs great now.if i bought another i'd probably jump to the 750.

Always 2 barrel Holleys on my old IH's. Just get the number off them and order a rebuild kit.

I have a 750 Holley on my 454 now but I have a nice running Quadrajet on a 500 Cadillac engine that I might put on the 454.
Are were straying from the original 392 IH question?

I'd pop on an Edelbrock...no fuss no muss, they've worked great for me. SOlved a whole bunch of QJet issues with Edelbrocks bought of the shelf at PEP boys...
