ya, couldn't beat that idea, but a whole trip's wraped around it with too many people.

In a previous life I had the pleasure of owning a 57, 58, and 74 Vette.

Bought the 74 at the beginning of the 1st marriage.

Sold the 57 after the end of the 1st marriage.

Sorry no pictures - exwife got all the pictures.

Oh well...anyway old JD tractors and 2nd wife Nancy are much more fun and affordable.

If you go home through N.E. Iowa, stop by my place. Would love to see the Vette. Is it a coupe or roadster ? Big block or small ? Of all years of Corvette's, 1967 is the one that tops them all. Don't have any hauling tips for you, just thinking how lucky you are.

Don't know much, not mine, helping a friend. How bout this, it was given to him.

only safe way to tie that down is like dde said, wheel straps. you may be able to rent them from u-haul, they call em basket straps. kind of like a net that drapes over the tire, then you cinch it down to your anchors on the trailer. if you try to tie the front crossmenber down (under the oil pan) or the lower a-arms, the chains will hit the front lower spoiler and crack it. in the rear with the independant suspension, there is really no safe place to hook without bending either trailing arms, half shafts or the traverse leaf spring.

My favorites is the C5 and C6 Corvettes. I don't care what they say, I may be young but with the horsepower these new 'vettes are putting out, they really are not just an old man's car anymore. The current Z06 and the ZR1 are really factory supercars.

I thought you knew everything? Would you take any advice anyway? Just think about it nice and slow and you will come up with something genius.

F you, when I come here it's all fair if we're talking politics, economy, etc. but I don't play when I give advice or ask advice. Somebody could get hurt.

Found an internet site and got a catalog of tie kits, about $200 a kit. Cheap compared to what we're hauling.
They have a tie down that goes over the tire, then the normal tie down point is a bracket for the strap to pivot 90 degrees. Your ratches lay flat on the deck.

So you thought the thing was to say something about the implied F word instead of to the person that specifically searched me out on an innocent thread to attack me. Get real.
A person can cuss any where, in cartoons that kids watch, &%$#@!^%, but it's your own sick mind that decides what those words are.
