1974 Ford 3400 industrial loader problem

I just replaced the hydraulic line coming from the front mount pump to the loader control unit. The loader will only lift a couple of inches before it stops. Is there a separate reservoir for hydraulic fluid for the loader and or do I have to bleed the system

I would think that there's a seperate reservoir for the loader on an industrial loader with a front pump. Don't need to bleed it, just fill the oil up and cycle it a few times and your good to go. Dave

If the vent is in the loader mast, yes, you fill there. Fill to about a foot below the vent. There is probably a suction filter in the outlet fitting at the bottom of the LH mast. Probably hasn't been changed in 30 years or more.
