Wishing to introduce myself

I have been evesdropping for awhile now.I have asked a couple questions that you have helped with. Now I feel I should let you know who your talking with.My name is Mike.I live in central michigan.I drive a public transit bus that provides door to door service county wide.I have a wife of 4 yrs.First marriage for both and no kids.We are middle aged.NOT YUPPIES! Working folk with working folk backgrounds.I am a tractor nut and my wife without being to encouraging is supportive.I own a 44 farmall H with a duall loader(I think).I also am just finishing a complete engine overhaul on a 1950 john deere B. This is my baby.My tractors are still in there work clothes.I believe in them being sound and able but not neccessarily in the finery. No objection to others as I like pretty tractors as well but mine are workers with not much work. I only live on an acre but am saving for more from the neighbor that is holding on to good health(he says)just so I have time to get some equity on my 4 yr old morgage to purchase some of his 3d generation owned ground.Till then I am settling for tractor rides through the farm land I love. My doing this feels corny but I think I like this site and am hoping to hang around for awhile.Wanted people to know who I am.After all if I was on the street and we talked I would introduce myself, right.

Hey, welcome.

There's a lotta people who share your values and input here on this forum. Most of my tractors are in their work clothes themselves.. after all, i'm trying to provide for myself and get my future family started. Tractors are part farming part leisure for me.

Welcome fellow Michigander! I'm Jon from St Johns Mi I have several green and yellow tractors of a popular brand and several of three shades of red. I must be colorblind. No parade queens here. I've been lurking here since '05. I've asked for help and given some. YTmag is a great place and tractor talk is a great coffee shop. Hope you stay around!

Hello there. I am Larry Henry from Mid Missouri.
Don't matter if you own no land and just rent. Having a tractor is fun. I think they can be a good investment when done right. My friend has 30 some odd tractors. Said he likes to fix them and he looks at them for his retirement time.

Hi Mike. Being here is like talking over the fence with your neighbor. A lot has been discussed in the past year or so. You have come to the best place for tractor information. No mater what you have someone will have a answer. I live about as far west as one can go. not too far from the pacific ocean here in Calif. I am not a yuppie either. Stan

Hi & Welcome to Yesterday's Tractors, it is a great website, I've learned a lot since I joined back in 2006. I have a 1943 Farmall H, 1949 John Deere A, and a 1938 Farmall F-20 that I will pick up soon, my brother has a 1936 Farmall F-12, My Dad has a 1933 Farmall F-12, 1954 Farmall Super MTA, 1944 Farmall H, 1946 Farmall H, 1956 Farmall 300, 1943 John Deere A, 1944 John Deere B, 1941 John Deere B and a '38 F-20.

Welcome aboard! Am also a central Michigan farmer. There's a number of us on this board. We raise sheep, llamas, goats, rabbits. Grow hay & oats to feed critters.

Come on in, sit a spell, enjoy the ride. We live in southwest Mn. I spent most of my productive years fulfilling other peoples dreams (carpenter),and farming as a side line. Now that I'm older(60 tomorrow) I'm staying home and fulfilling my own dream, and a great life it is.

Enjoy life's journey, leave the ego trips to those who need them

Hey Andy, did you find that F-20 you're gonna pick up on Craigslist? I seem to remember seein' one on there. Coulda been an F-12 though. There's a '38 Oliver something-or-other on there now down in Brandon.

Gosh, its all been said Mike welcome to you and your wife and somewhere along the line she'll get addicted too. I didn't realize there was such an audience "eat your heart out Rush and Glen" We usually violate the 2 of the 3 taboos religion and politics we kind of avoid the third one there are moderators watching although some sneak in once in awhile. ;-)Enjoy CT

No, I bought my F-20 from a man is Wisconsin, a man who we have bought tractors from before from the Classified Ads. My Dad bought a couple parts tractors from him and he had the F-20 there. He wanted to sell it to us when we picked up the tractors, but we were not able to buy it at that time. Later after I finished my Farmall H, I emailed pictures of my H to many people, including the man in WI, so he replied back and said he still had the F-20 and wanted to know if I would like to buy it. I made payments on the F-20 this winter and have it nearly all paid off, I will pay the rest when I pick it up.
