ih 484 fuel tank

Hi I was doin sum brush-hogging this wekend and a rock shot out of the front of the brush hog and brock off the valve on the bottom of the tank on the right side of the tank. Can I buy a new vaulve or do i get a new tank if so where please help.

I don't know about that model, but I'll bet the fitting is screwded into the tank. You will probably need a easy out to remove the broken piece.I don't think you will need a new tank. Thse rocks do funny things. I had one shoot out from my mower hit my front tire, and flew back and hit me in the eye, hurt like heck for a long time. Stan

I think if you were to price a new fuel tank from Case IH, you'd be running mighty fast to your nearest welding repair shop. I think a new metal fuel tank for a 484 runs right around $1,500 and that was the price a few years ago.

thanks and ya they do i had one fly out and brake off the stem on my back tire

I "think" the fittings are common of the shelf parts, never replaced any of them, but had it apart on the 495.
