I just found out that the clutch disc in my 430 jd has a 17 tooth spine measuring 1 and 1/8 inches in diameter. The tool I purchased from Yesterdays Tractors is for a 10 tooth spine measuring 1 and 3/8 inches in diameter. I ordered the tool before I split the tractor not knowing that jd used diferent spines. Does anyont know where I may purchase the tool I need? Thanks, Tom

If you know someone with a lathe, you can turn a hardwood dowel down until it will slide into the disc and the turn the tip down until it is the correct diameter to fit inside your pilot bearing.
You don't need the splines.

You can buy a universal tool that doesn't use the splines, just fits tight in the hole. The pilot end is threaded and comes with different size pilots. You can usually get it close enough to work by just eye balling it.If you have a double clutch there's a seperate tool for the pilot and for the finger adjustment.

That worked fine. I do have and engine lathe and Ijust machined the double step spline diameters and the pilot diameter on an old piece of round stock I had laying around. I never thought about not needing the spine. Thanks for the tip. Tom
