OT- Ford Question

I'am helping a friend change out the engine in his 1994 Ford F350 with a 460 with C6 trans. The question is we have to swap distrubters and will have to set the base timing when we get it all back to together. I am a GM man clear thru. On a GM truck of that vintage you unplug a connector on the firewall to disable the computer and set the base timing. What is the procedure to do this on this truck. All stickers are unreadable so I need to also know how many degrees to set the base timing to.

The engine we are putting in is a 89 and that one has the spout connector but the 94 does not. Must be some other means of putting it in timing mode. Someone should know given how Fords are always breaking down and require engine replacement, LOL...
