Still in Weatherford at the Best Westrrn. IKE went right over the house in La Porte. Neighbor said house is fine...little dammage.

Glad to hear your house is OK.
Most people I have talked to that were not in the storm surge area have little damage.
How long it takes to get electricty and get back to normal may be a differant story.

Mostly tree and roof damage away from the surge. 2 million without elec today(Sunday). Most areas will not let you return. Sundown to sunup curfews. Today brought a string of storms that dumped up to 9 in of rain. Many areas that were alright have now flooded. I know that you are concered about your home but conditions are not too good. Many roads have not been cleared of debris. Without elec, water, sewer pretty hard to live in many areas.
Once you are here no way to buy gas as most stations don't have elec.

La Porte city gov. has asked residents not to return, this is Monday, morning.
They posted a phone number to call for La Porte

Went to TS and got a small generator and a slide in fuel tank. Will fill it this PM.Nice folks at TS. Helped me set it up and ready to fill. Gotta send a thank you for that. Finally got hold of a friend...said the power lines were a mess. Will be weeks...

Hang in there. Be careful with the generator, make sure that the exhaust is venting away from your house. Already had 1 death in area due to carbon monoxide. Fumes from generator filled house and 4yr old was killed.

Thanks for the support.
I used to go by Katy everyday on the way to work. I was one of the first 10 people to open the truck plant in Sealy.
Retired from there and now work in Houston.
