I need to know how far north the power outage goes. I am looking for the nearest town to Cleveland Texas that has power and may have a chance of having things such as a propane stove (campstove) and some propane. Also a source for gasoline. Some folks down there need these items as electricity will be off for a while. I know Cleveland is without power, as is Dayton, Liberty, Crosby, Conroe, Livingston, and most cities within 100 miles of Houston and worse in the easterly direction. If you know of folks living in east Texas could you please text them or email and see where the power outage reaches. Thanks.

My prayers are with you. I think I am too far away for you to come up and get my generator and trash pump. If not, let me know, I will sell them both to you for a price we agree with, and if both come back home with no damage, will just charge a fair rental fee. DOUG

thanks doug, but I was asking for some folks down in East Texas. Seems all the power there is out, all the walmarts for miles around are sold out or closed and I don't want to drive 400 miles to give him my generator and campstove or carry him my travel trailer. Thanks again

Ron ,these items should be on hand before they are needed. We had an ice storm in 98 that left us without power for 8 days. Some places were out for 30 days.My small generator kept my freezer and refridgerator going. plus kept the post office and several other home from freezing up.My camp stove cost 5 bucks at a yard sale.A gallon of fuel for it cost 3.50.I keep 5 gal of gasoline,5 of fuel oil and 5 of kerosene.I have a wood burning cookstove in the kitchen plus a stove in the living room. There are 2 cords of wood in the shed and 8 more will be added before snow flies. You cant buy needed supplies during bad storms or floods.Canned goods put up at home and bought are a must.It cost little to buy supplies before they are needed.A garden is a must now that vegetables cost more per pound than meat. You must be able to hunt and keep a good supply of ammo on hand.Living in a flood prone area makes no sense .I gave up trying to get people to be prepared for hard times. This winter will be hard on many people here.Katrina has proved the government is helpless during problems. You must look out for your self, family and and friends.
