thanks. Bob, is this a good thing-the distributor coil being disabled? i ordered new coil, but it is not a "round can coil", it is a replacement for the coil on top of distributor. What would work best or is there a difference in the two? thanks

The old square type coils are well known for burning out that's probably why it was gutted and a round coil hooked up. If I remember from your other post you said its 12 volt system and if that's true then you would need to have ballast resisters in the wiring or you will smoke test that square coil in a matter of hours. Thats why Bob said to get the coil he gave you part numbers for from napa so you will not need the ballast resisters

Don't be a GROUCH!

I don't think you were wasting our time.

I think you were just not reading the (correct) information that was already posted. We told you several times how your coil changeover setup works.

I don't know WHAT could have been added to explain it any further, you just need to take a few moments to digest what's already been posted!

I don't think Bob was trying to be mean he just put it out plain ans simple and let you go from there. It can be hard for use to explain things on the net that's why I get a lot of phone calls from all over the country because it seems talking on the phone helps more then on here. I welcome people calling me because I enjoy helping people fix there old tractors. Go to my web site and my number is there if you need more help and call me I'll explain things if you need it
